Travel Bug

Writer: Julia CohenJulia Cohen

Not in the way you might think. This month I have been Vocal Coaching Six at New London Barn Playhouse in New Hampshire. It has been amazing - the students are working so hard! I had my last day this week and have also been connecting with some theatres in that area. So I found out I got an audition in NY for Waitress, and had to last minute travel back. In this process I did a Vermont audition Wednesday morning, drove into NYC for the Waitress audition later that day. I sadly did not get to the next round. Yes, I was bummed but also it felt okay. I fully immersed myself in the new show and now have another role under my belt that I am excited to keep auditioning for. Sometimes you end up traveling crazy hours for auditions, or devoting hours of prep work, and it doesn't pan out. I luckily set up a hang with one of my best friends and had a few lessons to look forward to Thursday morning. Filling my days with other joys has helped with the intense aspects of the audition scene.
