My number one goal as a voice teacher is to help students share stories through singing and build lifelong vocal health. I value joy and playfulness in lessons. The singer's mind can be very critical, and approaching lessons with positivity is key to fostering growth.

I hold a Master’s from NYU Steinhardt and a Bachelor’s from New England Conservatory, with training in classical, musical theatre, and pop/folk styles. I’ve taught at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, guiding over 60 college students in musical theatre, and at NYU Steinhardt, instructing 50 students in various vocal styles, including legit theater, opera, contemporary theater, and popular music.

My goal as a vocal coach is to help students discover their authentic sound and sing comfortably. I use an acting-based method, focusing on full-body connection through breath support, posture, and natural voice inflections. I believe singing should feel as natural as speaking, and I emphasize cross-training to master multiple styles. I’m committed to providing a holistic, inclusive environment where students can grow and develop into the artists they aspire to be.

Marcelo Lozano,

American Academy of Dramatic Arts Student

"I recently had an audition where I sang "Something's Coming" from West Side Story, and I felt fantastic!

The director, who has seen me perform before, was amazed and mentioned that I had significantly improved since the last time he saw me sing. It felt incredible to hear that. Of course, I made sure to mention that I had a fantastic set of teachers in New York!

Thank you again. It was great to put my skills to work and receive such positive feedback. "

"Julia is a gifted educator who knows how to meet you exactly where you are and unlock your potential as an artist. Whether you have been singing for years or are just starting, she tailors her lessons exactly to your needs. She is kind, patient and highly skilled at what she does, and I cannot recommend her highly enough."
